How to find Joy

How to find Joy
True joy cannot exist without freedom….
Joy is a feeling of great pleasure or happiness.

As kids, we often found joy in almost everything we did. Unfortunately, the older we grew the lesser the number of things that could give us joy. For most people, their mindset changed and the things that now give them their greatest joy are attached to their ideas of success.

Ever seen those ‘would you rather be rich or happy’ memes? Well, that leads us to the second group of people who believe you cannot be rich or successful and still be happy.
Well, I’m here to tell you that you do not have to choose to be rich or anything else at the cost of
your happiness and neither do you have to be rich to be happy!

True joy simply cannot exist without freedom. We need to free ourselves of our baggage and this
includes our high expectations. These high expectations are not always a bad thing, but they
cause us to lose our happiness if we don’t reach them.

Tips That Can Help you How To Find Joy

1. Simplicity:

When we live complex lives, we are unable to appreciate the simple things that can make us feel fulfilled. We will have an unconscious expectation for the source of our satisfaction or joy to be something major or complex.

2. Be realistic:

We need to set realistic and short-term goals as opposed to long-term goals so that each little accomplishment can be fully appreciated

3. Push the brakes! Don’t be in such a hurry!

Like Eckhart Tolle once said, “In today’s rush we all think too much, seek too much, want too much, and forget about the joy of just Being.” It’s in our human nature to live life at a fast pace but we need to take things slowly and be present. Breathe. Relax. Assimilate.

4. Do what brings you joy!

You need to do more of the things that bring you joy or happiness regardless of how trivial they may seem. Is it serving others? Having game nights with friends? Practicing self-love? Do it! Being an adult is not an easy task so when you know the little things that bring you joy, you must do them.

Having joy or being happy is a conscious and consistent decision you make. Happiness isn’t what you find at the end of the road instead it is right here and right now!

True joy cannot exist without freedom. We need to free ourselves of our baggage so we can fully appreciate what we have and how far we have come.
